Street Interview asking people why dependence on technology in the youth is prevalent even with its damaging effects

Chapter 6 is "Our Digital Youth".  Technology has become such a huge part of our culture that it is being used by people of all ages, including children. Team 16 is researching about the effects of technology on the mental and physical health of the youth worldwide. The sections that I am working on explains the effects of online information in the increase of eating disorders in the younger population. The question I will ask people on the street is, "Why do you think that the youth in our nation is dependent on technology even if they are aware of its damaging effects to their health?" Technology has allowed unrealistic images of people look so real that it begins to tap into the minds of our youth and alter their own perception of their body. As well, internet use addiction might become a part of the DSM-5 of the American Psychiatric Association which means that it could become a mental illness in our nation. Technology has become a major component of the lives of our youth and it has manifested them. It is important to ask the public so that people can evaluate and become aware of technology's negative effects.
