Incorporating easily understood and moderately detailed graphics in writings will increase potential reader engagement

Graphics play a major role in the quality of a reading, such as an article.  Incorporating a graphic that has contiguity with the discussed topic and is easily understood will increase the engagement from readers.  If the graphic lacks these characteristics, readers are discouraged from engaging with the article.

On the right side, there are two graphs that present the underemployment rates of young college graduates. When comparing theses graphs, the top one is a better choice. It provides just enough information to understand the basics of the issue.  An important feature of the top graph is the specified data points at the end of the data line. This specification allows readers to quickly learn current information while still being able to compare it to past data. Although the bottom graph gives more detail in the data year, the actual data should have been highlighted.
