When one is looking to compare and contrast information, you’d want to use something thats easy and clear to understand, right? Well, the use of pie charts can fulfill those desires. As shown below, we have two different types of graphs used to display different media sources commonly used for news. With something as simple as dividing increments of a total quantity, pie charts are easy on the eyes, simple, and with the use of percentages, the statistics are easy to understand.
In contrast, the bar graph (focusing on the pink bars) takes more time to read and comprehend, by having to follow the bars to see how far they go up. It takes up unnecessary time and thought. The pie chart is easy on the eyes and makes it simpler to identify where each different source of news is categorized.
