Simpler Bar Graphs Have More Contiguity Than More Complex Bar Graphs

Bad Contiguity
More people are able to interpret and understand simpler bar graphs more than the complex bar graphs. Looking at the graphics on the right you can see bad and good examples of contiguity.

Looking at the bad example of contiguity you can see that this bar graph has lots of things going on. It has multiple bars all clustered together with different numbers everywhere. The labels are not clear so you can't understand what this graph is about.

Good Contiguity
Looking at the good example of contiguity you can see that this bar graph is a lot more simpler than the bad example. This is a good example because it has descriptive labels. The bars in this bar graph are spaced out which makes it easier to look at. Just by looking at the graph you automatically know that this graph is showing data about which students have birthdays in the different months.
