Google is establishing their own ecosystem, not unlike Apple's

Android is known for having a huge selection of devices, but as a consequence, also for limited support because of the variety of devices. However, Google is now trying to change that common perception by introducing a new series of Android devices called Pixel. These new Pixel-branded phones are planned to become the new standard for all Android phones and to become the default Android flagship phones, similar to the iPhone for iOS devices. For users, this is a tremendous step forward for Google. Users now expect great support for anything they buy, which is one reason many users typically turn to Apple when they want a new device. However, with this new line of Pixel phones, users may start to consider Android phones more when thinking of a new phone.
